One of our worst nightmares just came true for a bunch of guests staying at the Paris Las Vegas. Four people were inside an elevator on the 30th floor when the cable snapped. KNBC reports:

The elevator dropped roughly fifteen floors before the brake system kicked in and slowly lowered the people inside to the fourteenth.

Officials say once they secured the elevator, crews went through the shaft, cut through the elevator wall and opened the door to get the passengers out.

One 60-year-old woman complained of lower back pain, but was treated at the scene.

No one else was injured.

We realize this could have been way worse and we are actually quite relieved to hear that these elevators come with brake systems. But still, Paris better give those people rooms for free for a year.

And give 'em brunch, too.  Best in town.

Thats scary cause what if they were on the 13th floor? That 15 story braking system wouldnt have worked all too well then..
