Know Your Manhattan Hoteliers

June 23, 2008 at 3:02 PM | by | Comment (1)

Ask and you shall receive. In a story the other week about the possible cold war thaw between feuding hoteliers Gregory Peck and Matt Moss (actually, that was just wishful thinking. The frenemy war rages on still), we asked for a copy of the Page Six magazine featuring some of NYC's hottest hoteliers.

And a kind soul sent us a copy!

In it, you see Jason Pomeranc (with ever-present arm candy/fashion publicist/girlfriend Ali Wise), Matt Moss and Greg Peck (totally did not pose together), scary Sean MacPherson and partner Eric Goode, the ever-dapper Andre Balazs, grunge hotelier Alex Calderwood of the Ace Hotel brand and chefs/restauaranteurs Todd English and Ken Friedman.

The article is an excellent recap of what to expect from the city's upcoming hotels and the men behind them. Things we learned that we didn't know before?

· The Ace Hotel will now definitely have a Portland-based coffee shop called Stumptown, a Rudy's Barbershop and a Ken Friedman restaurant inside when it opens in January 2009.
· The Hotel Riverview will have shared bathrooms to give artist guests a more "authentic" feel.
· Cooper Square will close the outdoor spaces at 9pm so as not to bother the locals.

Of course, we'll be keeping tabs on these men and their projects for many months to come. Got a tip or a question about these new hotels? Send it our way.

here is the truth

This comment represents and speaks for all the tenants of "the jane hotel" formally known as the " hotel riverview". Only a small percent of us are left after a year of major harassment consisting of construction, bed bugs, rats and mice. sean macphearson and eric goode do not have any regards for humane rights and that is a fact. We have had to live with that fact, but not for long
