Treehouse Hotels are a popular sort of breed these days, perfect for tree-huggers, those wishing for an eco-vacation and anyone who ever fancied the Swiss Family Robinson digs.
Now, here's a chance to stay in a Tree House Mansion.
The Lodge Kura Hulanda & Beach Club on the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao has opened its two-bedroom, two bathroom treetop suite built atop wooden stilts for hotel guests to rent:
A wooden spiral staircase leads up to the Tree House Mansion and into the open-air living room, which features an authentic, ornate Bali Bridal bed and a wide terrace providing picturesque sunset views over the water.

And despite the treehouse accommodations, the suite has all the comfort and amenities you would expect from a normal luxury hotel room.
Each bedroom is air-conditioned and offers a four-poster king size bed with mosquito netting, flat screen TV, and full bathroom with tub and shower. The Tree House Mansion also has wireless Internet and a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, sink and microwave.
Ok, so a tree house can have wireless internet but a Ritz-Carlton room cannot. Need we say anymore about the injustices of luxury hotel internet access?
The Tree House Mansion sleeps up to four people with rates starting at $1,000 a night. In peak season, the rates go up to $1,200 and over Christmas and New Years, the rates start at $1,500. But hello! Christmas in a treehouse. Well worth it.
Still, if that's a little out of your price range or if you were looking for a more rugged tree house experience, the Lodge Kura Hulanda also has a basic Tree House located amongst the Lodge Garden View Rooms and Suites.
At a reasonable $100 a night, you can "climb up a ladder, through a trap door and on to a wooden platform where a full sized safari tent is erected." The tent has a king-sized beds and working electricity, including a mini-refrigerator and television, but no air conditioning. The bathroom is also located on the ground beneath the platform and has a shower, sink and toilet all built in a "rustic" manor.
Still, there's plenty of stuff to do outside your treehouse if you get bored. The Lodge Kura Hulanda is located on Curaçao’s west end on the beach, about 45 minutes from downtown Willemstad. Snorkeling, diving, hiking and just laying out getting a tan are all easily do-able here.
