Get your hot dogs, sunscreen and beer guts ready: Independence Day is just over two weeks away! If you're headed to a big city for some fireworks fun, we'll be taking a look at hotels with prime fireworks views. Have a favorite hotel for gawking at bombs bursting in air? Send it our way.
Celebrate your country's independence by spending a night in an old jail! Head to Boston and check out our Fourth of July SPLURGE hotel pick: The Liberty Hotel.
The swanky, newly-converted jailhouse is offering the Independence Day Perfect View Package, a bundle of goodies that may be best for you to indulge in without the kiddies.
Available July 3-5, the two-night package includes:
· Accommodations in a one or two bedroom Escape Suite
· Up to four seats on the Community Boating Dock for the Boston Pops! performance and Charles River fireworks display
· Dinner for up to four people at CLINK
· Veuve Clicquot champagne and dessert at turndown
· Late check-out of 2pm
First of all, the hotel's restaurant is called CLINK - ha! Hilarious! Not as hilarious: the package runs about $1,515 per night.
We know this is a pretty big chunk of change to spend on two nights in an old jail. But hey, look at it this way: at least you get free champagne in your room, so you're going to be boozing indoors and not wandering around drunk in the streets. Thus, you're less likely to end up in a REAL jail, which would cost you lots more money and significantly more dignity.
Plus, the Liberty is a really, really cool, one-of-a-kind experience. Before you book, check out our video tour here if you need a bit more convincing.
