There's the Island Flowers Body Masque at Maui's Grand Wailea Resort & Spa Grande, with hydrotherapy, and a facial masque of hibiscus, rose and jasmine petals. Not only will your skin be soft, but as fragrant as a Big Island garden. Rates start at $150 for 50 minutes.
The Spa at Rancho Bernardo Inn in San Diego offers a "Pearfect Body Treatment" -- pear and green apple exfoliation, "a complete body masque made from the pulp of tangy limes, green apples, and pears," and a moisturizer made of Honeydew melon. The fee is $150 for 80 minutes -- but how could they omit blueberries, for maximum antioxidation?
The Silk Route Body Therapy & Serenity Shower at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs is replete with cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, and something called "oriental oil." You'll also get blissfully buffeted by a Vichy shower and get a full body wrap. Fees start at $225.
For $180 at The Surf and Sand Resort Aquaterra Spa in Laguna Beach, you can get a treatment called The Hot Shell Massage. Hot Tiger Clam shells are placed strategically on your chakras (don't squirm!). Tiger kelp, sea algae, water, and salt are also part of the treatment, which includes a massage.
The Peninsula Beverly Hills offers an Organic Oxygen Facial -- basically you get a Luzern oxygen mist on your face, then you're massaged from head to toe after being coated with a goo of orange blossom oil. Since the celebs apparently go for this treatment, the fees are premium: $250 for 60 minutes, or $375 for 90 minutes.
If pressed to choose, we'd pick The Mediterranean Harmony Massage at the The St. Regis Monarch Beach in Orange County. For $350, your eyes will roll back up into your head as two licensed therapists do double duty on your bod and all its myriad knots and muscles, ending with a fig-and-cassis backrub.
