A lobby rendering of the Westin Verasa.
The city of Napa has been pushing hard for a major face lift the last few years and so far so good.
The food and arts institution Copia, was recently coupled with Oxbow market, turning it into a foodie's paradise. Obviously this is having a positive effect if Starwood is opening a condo-hotel just down the street on September 18th called Westin Verasa.
Interiors
The Westin Verasa will be comprised of 180 rooms and will operate under a standard condo-tel agreement, meaning owners of individual units can rent out their rooms to hotel guests when they aren't around.
From what we've seen of the renderings, the interiors will be typical Westin neutral tones, and anonymously modern decor. The rooms will feature full kitchens with granite counters stainless steel appliances. The bathrooms looked suprisingly spacious and we liked the oyster-shell inlay on the walls giving the bathrooms a very luxe shimmery appeal.
Mingling Mania
The public spaces at The Westin Verasa feature an airy spacious lobby with a long wine bar to imbibe in the local vino. And just in time for the sunset, you'll be able to walk outside and enjoy your glass of cab at the large pool or by the requisite boccie courts.
Don't Look That Way!
We've been driving by this project for the last year watching it come along and although the grounds on the property will be up to par and close to Oxbow and Copia, the general neighborhood around Verasa is a strip mall and tire store locale, a far cry from "wine country."
The backside of the property is right on the wooded edge of the Napa River parkway, just don't look out from the front of the property and the illusion will remain intact.
Like the eager beavers we are, we'll keep you posted on the opening of this property and the final result.
