Once we saw the renderings, all we can say is they dominate the development in a very distinctive way. The 1 Hotel will clearly show its green roots (no pun intended) by being covered in ivy, much like the 1 Hotel in Washington DC. The Baccarat Hotel is being built as a classic stone high-rise, a la 200 years of Baccarat Crystal history.
Both hotels are currently under construction now (Phew! We thought 1 Hotels was starting to go aloft-delay on us here) and hope to be open in 2010 with the rest of Streets of Buckhead Phase 1. So what should Atlanta's wannabe Rodeo Drivers expect?
The Baccarat Hotel & Residences will include 100 hotel rooms, 42 condominiums, a Baccarat Crystal Boutique and what looks like two rooftop glass covered atriums which will probably be full of Baccarat Crystal, or else we want a refund.
The 1 Hotel & Residences is to include 100 residences, 175 guest rooms, and what's becoming the usual for 1 Hotel's--a B.R. Guest Restaurant, spa, rooftop bar and, um, plenty of ivy.
Now all we want to know is if that rumored third hotel in Phase Two is going to be a Crillon.
