Since the U.S. premiere of the British hit Secret Diary of a Call Girl airs tonight, we decided to check out one of the sexy hotels used as a meetup spot for high-class hooker Belle and her upscale clients on the show.
Shots of "rooms, the lobby, the main bar and the lift/corridor" of London's historic five-star May Fair Hotel are featured on the first season of SDCG and we can understand why. The decor is lavish and the atmosphere screams decadence -- and, dare we say, the name is just a touch scandalous: May Fair sounds an awful lot like Mayflower, the site of the Spitzer high-class hooker scandal. Coincidence?
Opened in 1927, the hotel recently underwent a £70 million makeover, giving it a bit more a of a sleek, modern feel.
Oh, and the little touches are, um, luxe: sofas and chairs by Fendi and Baccarat chandeliers, for instance.
But if it's an authentic 'Call Girl' experience you're looking for, channel your inner Billie Piper (or sneaky governor) with the "Suite Seduction" package:
On your arrival a bottle of champagne, perfectly chilled; one dozen fresh roses in perfect bloom; a selection of Jo Malone oils and essences; a delicious Agent Provocateur accessory to enjoy. After dinner served in your suite come chocolate-dipped strawberries.
We do not officially condone, er, paid company, but you're free to do as you please.
But listen, after you cover the package's £1500 price tag, you're probably going to be more inclined to go find free 'company' to bring home at the pub anyway.
