With its own private driveway, the free-standing, two-story suite features three bedrooms - including an upstairs master suite with a balcony, three bathrooms, a full kitchen, a living room, a media room - complete with leather reclining sofa chairs, a 72" plasma screen TV and surround sound, a private pool, a Jacuzzi and patio with a built-in barbeque. Its contemporary furniture and décor highlight the natural elements and colors of the Southwest.
Guests staying in the Casa Dorada (and in Gold rooms) get access to the Gold lounge, a private check-in and check-out area, the Gold Concierge, the complimentary deluxe continental breakfast featuring hot entrees daily, cocktail hour canapés and an honor bar.
More than 20 Fairmont Hotels have these Gold offerings. And as you can imagine, the gold rooms are a little pricer.
The Casa Dorada starts at $3,500 a night. However, when we looked at rooms available for this weekend at the Fairmont, a Gold Junior suite at 600-square-feet was still cheaper at $269 a night than a 700-square-foot casita room at $309 a night.
If hanging in the Gold lounge is more important to you than an extra 100-square-feet, you may want to consider the Gold room.
