The Brochner chain has become carbon neutral by buying up carbon credits in the EU quota system, after deciding that their urban location meant providing energy from a more natural means would be near impossible. It sort of seems like cheating, but obviously it's better than doing nothing.
They also have environmentally friendly packages for their guests, such as the "City Break With Carbon Credit" weekend. It doesn't sound too sexy, but it is eco-friendly: you forego the bottle of champagne that is normally included with a weekend break package and the cost of the champagne is exchanged for carbon credits instead, covering the emissions of your weekend excursions.
The cost for your City Break With Carbon Credit depends on which of the hotels you choose, but as an example, nightly rates for the package at the Hotel Kong Arthur, the most expensive of the chain, start from DKK 887 per person, per night (US$180) and at Hotel Danmark, from DKK 536 (US$110)--again, per person. Don't forget to bring your own champagne.
