Millennium Hotels Start a Grander Version in Asia

The Asian region of the Millenium Hotels chain have just found a great way to increase room rates: just create a new brand by sticking the word "Grand" in front of your old one.
Okay, that's the cynical take on the news, and as we haven't yet been inside a Grand Millennium we should probably reserve our judgment. In any case, there are already four Grand Millennium Hotels operating, after Sukhumvit Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur opened last October, and then during 2008 the Grand Millennium Dubai and Beijing hotels have also started operations under the new branding.
We haven't heard yet where the next ones will turn up but they're aiming for "key city and major gateway addresses" in Asia so we're putting our money on Singapore and Hong Kong.
The common thread amongst the new Grand Millenniums is that they're all designed to impress: they include large-scale atriums (like this one pictured, from the Bangkok hotel), "grand" lobbies, and lap-sized swimming pools. They're also leaning to the hi-tech end of the spectrum with WiFi, Bose sound systems and heated towel racks in the bathrooms.
It does all sound Grand, and hopefully worth the extra cash.
