Kimpton Gives Women What They Want

We were pretty excited about the Kimpton Hotels range of robes--remember the giraffe? Neat ideas haven't stopped there, and it seems like Kimpton throws a lot of money and time into coming up with creative ideas that actually sound worthwhile for travelers. Of course, it might be that there's so much emphasis on doing even better than a giraffe robe that they forget to clean the rooms--no, we have no evidence of that, we're just wondering.
Anyhow, the latest swathe of new ideas all fit into Kimpton's Women InTouch plan, a bunch of ways in which the chain is "committed to women travelers".
For a start, they've extended the range of products in their "Forgot It? We've Got It!" range of stuff that we might forget to pack. We are quite impressed that they have contact lens solution (something we forgot once before), and stain-removing wipes are also handy.
They also say you can forget some things on purpose, including bulky items like hair straighteners, because they have them on hand when you need them.
There is also--and we don't think this needs to be exclusive to women--the Quick Concierge "cheat sheet" which gives you a rundown of useful spots around the city, especially for dining and shopping.
Our favorite here is the fact they also include the best place to buy chocolate in town, and they're not dumb enough to think we want to take it home as a gift--they understand we're going to eat it on the plane ride home.
