Top Hat Makes Entire Hotel Uniforms, Not Just Hats

Ever wondered where those goofy uniforms you see on hotel staff came from? Turns out not all of them were made in China: there's a uniform designer and manufacturer that does all the work in New York, called Top Hat Image Wear.

Not that we're personally in the market for any uniforms ourselves, but it is interesting to see what's out there and how bad or how good the staff at our favorite hotels could really look.

As with all uniforms, you're never going to get something that looks good on every staff member who has to wear it (just think back to housekeeping uniforms at the last hotel you stayed in and you'll probably get the picture).

But the PR blurb for Top Hat says they're "inspired by runway shows ... our uniforms push the envelope of the conservative hospitality industry", and it's true, they do have a few pretty out there designs, like this Chinese-influenced jacket for restaurant staff.

They also have more regular, conservative gear as well, with specific designs for spas, resorts and casinos, too.

The thing that we're even more impressed with, however, is the people they've got modeling these uniforms. If our hotel staff looked like that, we'd spend our entire vacation in the lobby staring at the uniformed gods.
