Boston Foodies: Get Excited for the New Regent Hotel at Battery Wharf

We love any hotel that puts us in close proximity to great restaurants--especially of the Italian variety--which is largely the reason we're eagerly awaiting the debut of The Regent at Battery Wharf.
Located in Boston's North End, a.k.a. the city's Little Italy, the 150-room hotel is set to open in July with 26 suites and an 18,000-square-foot Guerlain spa. Three-star Michelin chef Guy Martin helms the 80-seat Sensing Restaurant; plus the area is home to a host of ethnically diverse eateries.
But is that the hotel's only draw? Boston news outlets are more focused on the mixed-use project's 104 condo units, which cost upwards of $1 million for 900- to 2,500-square-feet of space. Even the little information available about the hotel on Regent's web site notes that the property is located in a "residential neighborhood," within walking distance to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Financial District and TD Banknorth Garden, to which we say, eh, give us something closer to Downtown Crossing.
If you've got the scoop on other area enticements, let us know, because we would hate to be outted for the gluttons that we are.
