The hotel's dining scene is anchored by the radii restaurant and its tea lounge where hotel high tea is served. (JetSet CD just perked up!) Tea and a light menu happen from 2:30 to 5pm every day at a cost of $35.
The downsides of the hotel according to TripAdvisor guests seem to be tired decor, noisy church bells next door, an out-of-the-way location and expensive parking. We say your parents will probably like it but if you want fun, there are other places to try in town.
Just in case, now that's its nearing winter in Australia room rates are pretty reasonable at $300 USD a night which is comparable to Oz dollars. And if you are an Amex Platinum Card holder you get the tea service gratis.
Another fun fact? Bono likes to stay here.
