Your significant other is going to be maaaaadddd if you say no to this retreat.

Like most couples chained to each for more than a decade, our relationship could stand a tune-up. And so can we. And while a romantic and spiritually enlightening package called The Art of Re-Connecting: A Couple's Retreat at the The Tides Riviera Maya sounds dreamy, it'll remain that way for us. A dream.

It is totally worth it if you and your special someone have an extra $7,460 laying around the house. It's on the Mayan Riviera amidst tropical forests and pearly-white beaches, first of all. With a luxurious six-night stay at an exclusive resort, number two. And it comes complete with your own private 1,000 sq. ft. palapos (translation: a kick-ass villa).

The couples retreat includes all the basics like five healthy gourmet meals a day, morning power walks with "sun salutations," your choice of yoga classes (Hatha to Kundalini), and meditation sessions to replenish your inner soul. But wait, that's just the half of it.

Afternoons are for pampering. Ritual ceremonies while you're working up a sweat in an authentic Temazcal cave (Fertility Ritual anyone?), spa treatments with herbal earth, wind, ocean effects, something they call a "Sensorama Labyrinth" to awaken all five, as well as stargazing Skywalks and a few chanting sessions shaman-style. Hold on, still more. Your last night in paradise - a group ceremony led by a natural medicine doctor and giving special thanks to Mother Earth (read: planting seeds).

First, the obvious upside. It's the amazing Yucatan Peninsula. And it's a posh resort with 30 stand-alone villas built of mahogany and stone, with furnished private terrace, outdoor "moon" shower and plunging pool.

And indoors is pretty sweet too. Comfy canopy beds with hand-stitched 500-count Egyptian linen and down pillows, Molton Brown amenities, Satellite TV, Bose DVD players, CD players, books, snorkels, and separate baths with marble standing showers and his-and-hers sinks. Everything your heart desires. Except for an Internet connection, which seems nonexistent. But heck, you're not coming here to Google.

The downside? Aside from the package price, taxes and gratuities are NOT included. This probably T-s you off, so pack some extra "mad money."

But what is included is fine cuisine at the resort's famous La Marea restaurant and lounge, private for guests only. Here the Chef prepares award-winning "Mayan-terranean" dishes and creative cocktails pour from the bar. There's also 800 bottles in the wine cellar.

You can swim up to The Grill at the Pool for something lighter to eat, and learn native cooking methods at the outdoor Mayan kitchen. By the way, you can dine anywhere, anytime...on the beach, poolside, or in your villa.

And if you find a minute to spare, nearby you can go on a jungle tour or big game and seawater fishing, play golf and tennis, ride horseback, take a scuba lesson, go sky diving and on and on and on.

One last thing. It's adults-only. No children under 16 allowed. But who in their right mind would bring the kids? Standard rates are seasonal and range from $585-$2,100 per night.
