Tablet Hotels and Others Join the Facebook Fray

Facebook isn't just for college kids anymore. Tablet Hotels has joined a bunch of other brands on the social networking site and has even created a Global Nomad Application. How it works:

It's essentially a game of Name That Hotel, with correct answers earning you chances to win daily and weekly prizes, up to and including free stays at some of our favorite hotels around the world.

Since we've been known to engage in a few Facebook activities here and there we added the Tablet Hotels application to our page.

The first picture that popped up was this one so we knew it was the Deseo boutique resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Since we correctly identified the hotel we got 10 bonus entries. You also get another 10 for signing up for the newsletter and inviting your friends to try it out.

And if you're not as hotel geeky as we are, the challenge does offer you some hints. All in all this page is pretty cool. Way better than the Standard Hotels attempt at Facebook.

So who else is on Facebook? Keep reading to find out.

· Le Meridien Hotels: We told you about that before.
· Westin Hotels: The Westin page is boring! There'a video of "This is How It Should Feel" and some "special" Westin-approved photos (cute doggies included!) However, we learned that this serene biz traveler brand was actually started by a "a former vaudeville acrobat, a plumber, and two displaced brewers."
· Sheraton: Sheraton is kinda ho-hum too. They've got Sheraton events posted like the Pillow Fight and the Sheraton Wave. Also, there's a super cheesy photo album.
· San Juan Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino: This page has a small fan base (124 friends) but it does have an event section and keeps you posted on the daily bar and restaurant special events like "WineDown @ 1309 - House wine and live music by Extasis."
· Hoteliers: There is a group page called Hoteliers on Facebook. Sadly we haven't seen Pomeranc or Chatwal lurking around here and it's pretty dry. Basically, just hospitality industry stuff.

Seen a hotel on Facebook we should know about? Poke us!
