Want to doze off in a swing cabana? Want to be welcomed to your hotel in Mayan? Want a red parrot to come when you call it?

Try Cancun's new Aqua Hotel & Resort which opened in February to pretty much instant acclaim.

It's outfitted with eight pools, three restaurants, and three kinds of cabanas (beach, pool, and swing). It's got a rockin' spa with all various offerings of massages, jacuzzis, sauna, and hydrotherapy. Still need to coddle your bod? there's a gym and yoga classes on the beach.

Amenities abound here, from the flat-screen TVs to the unlimited beach towels, from the gratis fruit skewers and brownies distributed by the pools; from aromatherapy smells all over the hotel to luxury books available to thumb through, and iPod docking stations. The bathroom comes with Molton Brown amenities, and everywhere there's music playing.

Some of the Tripadvisor reviews complain of too much of a good thing on the aromatherapy tip, too much music, too much cash outlay on the internet access, food buffets, and bar bills ($13 drinks - ouch). But there are raves about the services and the service itself, the luxurious atmosphere, the cuisine, and the pools are rated as primo.

Although it's going to be fairly hot down in the Yucatan this summer, that probably wouldn't stop us from booking Aqua's summer deal. You'll get 25% knocked off your nightly rate, 25% off all food and beverage bills, and 25% off all Spa services throughout the stay. Book anytime between now and August 31st, and arrive anytime starting now through September 16th, 2008. Then you'll get to see if "red parrots that fly to you on call" is real or something out of a dream.
