They showed us around, let us measure bits and pieces, explained everything we wanted to know with a friendliness that was pretty amazing - it's an experience we haven't had in any other Parisian hotel so far.
So thumbs up ten times over to the staff. And thumbs up to the hotel also, a 39-room boutique/design hotel just parallel to the Champs-Élysées in the Paris's Golden Triangle (aka Expensive Hotel District).
It's beautifully designed with a black, white and colour-splash décor, classic yet modern and thoroughly beautiful. The small breakfast room upstairs is cutely cosy and there's a fitness area and massage parlour.
The standard rooms are small, though, so if you like a bit of space to breathe, splash out on an executive room or a suite.
But the Hotel Keppler has more of an intimate feel than any hotel we've been in for a while. They call themselves a hôtel de famille, and for once, despite our hatred for pretentious self-proclaimed and invented hotel titles, we'd definitely agree.
