While Wall Street tanks, Atlantic City is soaring to new heights with The Tower at Trump Taj Majal, a brand new pinnacle of success for the boardwalk hotel and casino. There's nothing The Donald can't fix with a $255 million fix, right?
This week the new construction's final beam was hoisted in Trump-ette fashion with beam signing and the raising high of evergreen tree and American flag, true hallmarks of a spectacular topping out.
What's in The Tower you ask? Well, when completed in December 2008, there'll be a total of 782 large guest rooms, including 74 suites, four of which will offer the same luxe surrounds as The Penthouse suites at the hotel.
Rooms are available in three different layouts, all with higher ceilings and bathrooms with double sinks with Brazilian granite counter tops and larger-than-life walk-in shower. And expecting nothing less from Mr. Trump, we get plush pillow-top bedding with premium linen, a desk and two chairs.
Oh yeah, the coffee service is "concealed," so as not to offend room guests with the look of soggy grounds?
Last but not at all least, all the bells and whistles we desire including 50-inch high-definition plasma TVs, iPod docking stations, and wireless Internet access (free perhaps?).
At the very top will be eight grand suites, four with one bedroom and four with two, featuring over 2,000 square feet in which to have fun.
With the hotel's existing entertainment venues, lounges, restaurants, and casino, The Tower's new ocean and bay view rooms will give travelers a true resort-like experience at the Atlantic City boardwalk.
All we can say is, luck be a lady.
