Boasting a 100% success rate, a dog's scent today is considered the cutting-edge of technology. And so K9's nosey pups lead their corporate handlers on a leash throughout the hotels, effectively sniffing out all those pesky critters that often go unseen by the human eye. And they're trained in the same fashion as their four-legged pals who hunt down drug-and bomb-toting pests of a human kind.
Advanced K9 says its detective litter can locate bedbugs in mattresses and upholstery much quicker, with more accuracy and at a less expensive price than other more traditional methods.
However, their bark is far worse than their bite. These canines do not kill bedbugs. What they will do, however, is return to the scene of the pesky crime to make sure that the infestation extermination was a successful one.
While we've seen this sort of bed bug sniffing at the Jurys Hotel in Boston, fortunately for Manhattan which had the most publicized incidents of bed bugs, (as well as 7,000 complaints in 2007 according to the Dept. of Housing, Preservation and Development), Advanced K9 Detectives is on call throughout the Big Apple.
So all hoteliers who hire Dodger, Jada, Mardi Gras, Marshall, Radar and Taz and their certified handlers can rest assured their business and leisure guests will sleep comfortably through the night, and without complaint.
