This Week in HotelChatter Commenting...Beware of the Soft-Opening
· PatrickSW advises against staying at the London West Hollywood during its soft-opening phase:
Hmm. So we're 3-ish days away from this "opening."Hammer noises are still coming from the building at all hours. The building is still a gross shade of brown-stained pink from its former Wyndham days.
Also, without a pool or a restaurant, this doesn't seem that special of a stay for $249 a night.
· Sobe Ibiza NY Milan (Ok, so now we know where this person likes to travel) has some strong opinions about the just-opened Gansevoort South in Miami Beach:
We were recently there for the WMC and were NOT impressed... The Ganesvoort used to be the Roney Palace and looked like a convalescent home chock full of elderly people just a few short years ago. Today, it's just the same old dirty Roney with a fresh coat of paint, some Ikea-looking furniture, a sharkless shark-tank, and a few younger but completely classless faces.
· Travelina gives us more "Paris on the Cheap" tips.
· A few of us thought it quite clear that hotels should start selling adorable puppies.
· Jenna thinks Tyra Banks should open up her own hotel. Don't put that idea into Tyra's head. She might do it. No, she probably already has it planned out. Thanks, Jenna. Thanks a lot.
