It seems there's another Juliana in the world who obsesses over hotel rates.

Hotel Maven Juliana C. emailed us about the opening rates for the London West Hollywood which should open on April 1st.

Rates are even cheaper... originally 299 for the London Suite, now it's 249! There's also a free continental breakfast until May 31st. Pool and restaurant does not open until June 1st unfortunately. Alternative pool options will be provided upon check-in. This will be interesting when I check in on April 11th.

Alternative pool options? Hmmm...we are wondering what those options could be. Maybe another hotel on the Sunset strip will allow London guests to enjoy heir pool.

Also, we're hearing that the Gordon Ramsay restaurant inside the hotel won't open until sometime in June as well. That's the price you pay for a cheap(ish) opening rate.

    Hmm.

    So we're 3-ish days away from this "opening."

    Hammer noises are still coming from the building at all hours.

    The building is still a gross shade of brown-stained pink from its former Wyndham days.

    The entrance is beginning to look sort of stunning, but only because of the art-deco lettering that welcomes you.

    Without the pool, the saving grace of the former Wyndham, and the restaurant... one has to wonder... Why would I do that?

    Juliana, I'd save my $249 and put it towards whatever the real rate is when the hotel is full service. Without that roof, I think your in-town vacation is set to be no vacation at all.

    $249 for the London West Hollywood

    I'm staying at the London West Hollywood in a one-bedroom suite for the opening on April 1. I'll keep you posted and let you know how it goes...
