The Gansevoort South has only been open for two days but the hotel's rooftop pool is already seeing some celebrity action.

To kick off the Sony Ericsson Open tennis tournament in Miami, and the opening of the much-awaited Gansevoort South hotel on Miami Beach, the tennis stars played a spirited in water game of tennis Monday afternoon in the 110-foot long, 43,000-gallon swimming pool.

The hotel had specially built acrylic invisible platforms at both ends of the infinity pool. Apparently, the water-covered court took seven days to build.

Tennis stars who played on water included Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams.

Stayed at the Gansevoort South yet? Let us know how it went.

did they allow the public

Did they allow the public to attend these games? I am sure it was all spectacular, I wish I was there myself. Do you have any info on the actually price for the tennis tickets at this event? Serena Williams is a real show girl, I'll just wait for the next tournaments to see her in action.
