The rendering for The Hotel Frank
The Hotel Maxwell will also get a new Thomas Schoos-designed look and a new name, The Hotel Frank.
Hotel Frank's uptown-city guestrooms exude a tailored look with a striking palette of black, white and emerald green. Ubiquitous houndstooth-patterned custom carpet, elongated emerald green headboards in crocodile-patterned leather and sleek white leather couches set a bold stage for hand-blown smoke glass bubbles of light that dangle over the bedside and vintage 1930s artwork showcased by ornate brass framing.
Each of the guestrooms will have 42" flat-screen TVs and room service from Max's on the Square which serves classic NY deli fare. Rates will also range from $169 to $399 a night. This hotel is now open as the Hotel Maxwell but we say wait until the reno is finished in August.
And that's not all for Personality Hotels. The Hotel Union Square will get a new look come May. All the guestrooms will be renovated by designer interior Ridley Johndonnell and will feature platform beds with cream-colored tufted headboards, sleek dark wood desks, chaise lounges, and flat-screen TVs. Many of the rooms will have exposed brick walls and floating white-paneled ceiling installation to give off the feel of an urban apartment.
Two rooms on each of the hotel's five floors are also devoted to the sexy hotel tub trend. Called "Sleep and Soak", these rooms will have an extra-large bathroom with corner soaking tubs and chaise lounges right next to the tub. Zexxy.
