Just through the lobby, you enter a courtyard, so to speak. Stone pathways and hedges wander around a small amoeba-shaped pool that is the centerpiece of the courtyard, with chaise lounges.
Through a large vestibule (with more lounge seats overlooking the pool) there's a pool table and two computers with free internet access. (Heck yes, we indulged.)
Pass through the vestibule, with long tiled hallways and Spanish-style wrought iron, which leads to interior rooms -- and you'll come upon another pool. This one's in the shape of elbow spaghetti, and terminates at a beautiful water wall.
There's grass to sink your toes into, and bougainvillea draped seemingly everywhere. Lounge music softly plays, and the atmosphere is one of total relaxation.
Mosquito Blue has an on-site spa, but it also opens onto the back of The Glass Bar, an Italian restaurant with a serious collection of vintages (you can even see the bottles stacked up from the street). At night, the place overflows with diners at their tables out along the Avenida, sampling nearly 200 varieties on hand.
Tripadvisor Reviews rave about its location, atmosphere, and amenities -- but some warn about the noise from the nightclub next door.
And don't even think about bringing the tots here -- no kids under the age of 16 welcome.
