The Four Seasons Concierges Who Tried To Tell All ...

You might remember that we were already a little uneasy about the book deal given to the two former concierges from the Four Seasons Chicago. And it turns out we were right to think this wasn't really the way concierges should go.
We've now heard that the book deal has been canceled because the concierges signed confidentiality agreements when they worked at the Four Seasons.
The concierges say the publisher, Random House, knew all along about these agreements, and that attorneys had agreed they didn't apply to the content of the book--but in the eleventh hour, following a complaint from Four Seasons, Random House decided not to release the book.
They barely need to release it now anyway, because the juiciest parts of the book have been gleaned from review copies and plastered across the web. The last time we had some concierge confessions we found most of the stories pretty lame, but this time round, the Four Seasons' staff have a few more interesting tales.
Not that we want to spread gossip too, but we rather like the idea of Harrison Ford saying, on being invited to attend a Planet Hollywood opening with Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'd rather have a root canal".
We're not sure we've heard the end of this story, though. Respectable Random House might have bowed to pressure from Four Seasons not to publish, but the two concierges have still got their stories. And all they're saying now is they don't know what they'll do next.
