In fact, Brosh wanted his hotel to have more of a student union feel. There's a house master (think concierge) but no bellmen or doormen hovering over you.
The public areas consist of a brasserie named The Hall which has a spacious courtyard and a lounge that's a true lounge--meaning it's a place to read, do work, converse, and yes, at night listen to music spun by local DJs. It's not some place where you need to show your room key to get in and order bottle service to obtain a place to sit.
The hotel will cater mostly to the film industry and other people who are on assignments or projects for extended amounts of time. The required stay is seven days or more but the starting suites (which are beyond generous in space) are going for around $250 right now. We're secretly hoping we'll get evicted from our apartment so we can spend a week here.
We'll have more on the Palihouse tomorrow including a video tour, room options and location.
