Chicago's oldest continuously operating hotel may now be gone, but the newly built, 154-room, 26-story building taking it's place has the same name. The Dana Hotel and Spa will start taking guests on Wednesday, May 28, with rooms starting at $350 a night.
Floors 6-14 of the property will be open right after Memorial Day, with the rest of the rooms, the spa, two restaurants and a rooftop lounge opening later in the summer. The spa figures to be a centerpiece as it takes up the whole first floor along with a fitness center. (Check-in and the hotel lobby are on the second floor.)
In-room, the gadgetry is up-to-the-minute and the WiFi will be free. Decor is heavy on the natural tones, with lots of wood surfaces. Every room comes with a single-cup coffee brewer as well as a minibar and a selection of chilled wines.
