Well, when Perry and Carolyn Butler visited the Four Seasons Golden Triangle Tented Camp--15 luxury tents overlooking the Ruak River--in 2006 they "fell in love" with the resident adopted elephants.
Since Perry is a Napa Vintner and Carolyn is the owner of FootCandy, they decided to contribute to the GTAEF conservation project by first putting out the Juslyn Vineyard `Rescue' wine label.
The 2001 Napa Blend, a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blend is rated at 90 Parker points. The wine is available in a set of three 750 ml bottles, 1.5l bottles as well as Magnum 3.0l bottles and can be shipped anywhere in the US and select countries overseas.
Then last year, Carolyn approached Manolo Blahnik to design a special shoe for the conservation project and he agreed.
So who knows, if you visit the Four Seasons Tented Camps, you might just walk away starting your own charity for elephants. Not that it should take a luxury hotel stay to convince you to give back to Mother Nature and her creatures, but you get our drift.
