The Standard NYC Wants You To Wine and Dine You
Eater also has some sparse details on the drinking and dining establishments:
1) The Standard Hotel and Ground Floor: The community board approved an "on premise license" for the 4,455 square foot restaurant with 375 table seats, one bar with 17 seats and a capacity 392. They squeaked in a sidewalk cafe but no backyard garden.
2) 18th Floor Bar and Restaurant: The nabe also approved this baby, coming in at a whopping 5,000 square feet. The 18th floor space will have 187 table seats, two bars with 42 seats and a capacity of 229.
You know that old saying "a bar with a hotel attached"? Yeah, that's the vibe we're getting here. And usually we can't imagine eating at a Standard Hotel (the one on Sunset particularly turns us off) but this may change once the NYC hotel opens. Or not.
