You will start by selecting your base ingredient--perhaps vodka or rum--then choose your preferred mixer, add your favorite garnish, and even choose what kind of glass you want to drink it from. If you're at a Conrad with a group, you can have "tableside mixology service", with lots of ingredients right there at your table for you to choose from. And to reflect the different local tastes around the world, the Conradtini menu differs slightly from country to country.
We're not quite sure if we're taken with Conradtini yet. The idea is nice, but there are a few possible hiccups, we think. First, ordering could take an eternity--think Sally's personalized version of every meal in When Harry Met Sally--and secondly, choice ain't always a good thing. Choice can be downright confusing, and we may not really end up with the best cocktail after all.
Perhaps Condradtini is only ideal for traveling barmen, who really do know exactly what they want and can tell someone fast. We just want a really good Caipirinha without a fifteen-minute conversation to order it.
