Note: Deals they be 'a changing. We scoped these out on Wednesdsay, February 20th and the prices listed here are subject to change.
There aren't many hotel deals to be found in Beverly Hills this weekend when the Oscars come to town but there are rooms available.
We checked our trusty rate finder and found five hotels in Beverly Hills that have rooms open. We checked for February 23-25 and most surprisingly the celeb-fave Peninsula Beverly Hills has rooms open for $625 a night. Maybe Britney Spears' pre-mental ward antics wreaked too much havoc on past guests. That or people are just balking at paying $600+ a night. Afterall, the industry is still recuperating from the writer's strike.
Also surprisingly, the Beverly Hilton, which has long been host to the Oscars, Golden Globes and Grammy parties, is open at $375 a night.
The rest of the options are pretty decent since they are all within a mile of Rodeo Drive. Just remember that the Best Western Beverly Pavilion Hotel has been reincarnated as the Thompson Beverly Hills Hotel.
Not a 90210 type of ho? Los Angeles proper has some decent rates like the Standard Hotel on Sunset for $283 a night. But then again you are staying at the Standard on Sunset.
Insider Tip: The Tower Hotel has rooms at $199 a night with a queen bed (king bed costs $229) and is about a mile south of Rodeo Drive. The hotel used to be a Loews and was recently renovated. It's also across the street from a Ralph's supermarket in case you want/need to save on grub.
We're still suspicious of hotel in Beverly Hills that would charge under $200 during Oscar weekend but if you are on a budget, you can try it out.
