Hotel Re-Opening: Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas Set for Early March
A half a year back we got a bit excited about the Stoneleigh Hotel because, as well as going through a massive renovation, it was also keeping a blog about it, and you know that we love a good hotel blog.
You can see from the blog that the makeover has made real progress, including a sneak peek of the renovated rooms and an entry about the day the grand new signage was put into place.
The word is that the Stoneleigh will now have its grand reopening in March 2008. The completely renovated hotel (exterior too) will now also include a full-service spa and restaurant, and adjacent is a new 21-floor building housing one to three bedroom suites and penthouses.
The Stoneleigh has a long history in Dallas, and is known to have hosted stars like Judy Garland, Andy Warhol and Elvis Presley. To honor these exciting previous guests they've set up some Tribute Suites (we have a yearning to stay in the Elvis Presley suite, we have to admit). Following the original layout of the hotel, the rooms and suits are larger than average and are furnished to suit the period of its original incarnation in the 1920s.
The online booking site is already available and starts from Monday, March 3, with rooms starting at around $275. But keep an eye out for some reopening specials, and try to grab the Elvis room.
