Miami Hotel Mambo: W Hotel South Beach to Open Summer 2009

Thanks to an awesome tipster Scot909 we have some fresh out of the oven news about the long-awaited W South Beach Hotel & Residences. And guess what? You're gonna have to wait some more.

Although the opening date looks like it has been moved up to Summer 2009 from 2010, that's still a long ways away for us. Here's what Scot909 had to say:

While in South Beach last week, I stopped by the construction site of the W Hotel currently being built on Collins Ave.

Quite a bit of progress over the last couple of months.  There was a full crew working and I believe they were pouring concrete on the eighth floor.

I went across the street to their sales office and one of their reps told me to expect completion of a floor a week until all the concrete work is finished.  Glass will start going on the building in the next month.

She said that they were scheduling to start closing on the condo units the second quarter of 2009 with the hotel to be open the summer of the same year.
