Give Your Pet A Vacation Too

When you go on vacation and put your dog/cat in a kennel - is he/she being walked twice a day, fed healthy breakfast snacks, and getting a mid-day ice cream cone? Is your young and impressionable Pug watching the latest pet-friendly TV shows? Are you able to speak to your pet via bone booth? Is Rex brushing up on his training skills while you’re gone?

No?

Well then!

You might want to reconsider your pet's living arrangements while you are gone. PetSmart has come to the rescue with about 100 stores throughout America that have a PetsHotel inside, offering 24-hour supervision of your pet in surroundings which are nicer than some hotels you've probably visited. (If you don't believe me, check out the video on the front page of PetsHotel.com - yeah, we know, nice huh?).

While prices vary based on location and the add-on services that you choose for your beloved, expect that at a minimum your pet will have its own area - not a chain linked fence, but a tiled floor, and comfy bed, or if you want to upgrade - go for the suite which includes a “poochy cot”, hypoallergenic lambskin blanket” and a TV tuned to animal friendly programming. And you thought you spoiled your dog.

At PetsHotel your pet will never go outdoors - they will do their doggy business in a room designed to look like the outdoors (think, fake grass, fire hydrants, & trees), and walks will be done on walking paths within the PetsHotel. All employees are fully trained and there is 24-hour supervision - so your pet will always have someone to comfort them if they think they see a pet ghost in the middle of the night.

PetSmart is rapidly expanding their PetsHotel locations - next month they expect to open their 100th location, and plan to open another 34 locations by the end of 2008.

PetsHotels are being promoted as not only a kennel for overnight stays, but also a place to drop off your pet for the day if you have guests, or if they need to learn how to socialize with other pets. If you are going away for a few days – or even a week or more, and either cannot bring your pet with you – or refuse to pay the sometimes outrageous fees hotels charge to let your dog sleep next to you, you can be rest assured that the PetsHotel is a member of the American Boarding Kennels Association.
