New York's Hotel Indigo Has an Opening Date, But Should You Care?

Hey now! New York City’s first Hotel Indigo—the “branded boutique” hotel chain has an opening date: July 9.

And boy, oh boy, we can’t wait. What with the helpful detail available on the hotel’s web site, we can tell this hotel will be a bastion of all things hips and trendy in Manhattan. Touting itself as “100% smoke free” (how novel!) and minutes from JFK (not really true when you’re located in Chelsea), the hotel also suggests its guests hit up such must-sees as Times Square and claim no one can go home without eating a hot dog in Central Park.

Really? Is that the best you’ve got, Hotel Indigo? Because in a crowded New York market recommending Times Square and hot dogs is hardly the way stand out. Also, since other Hotels Indigos have been known to offer some bad rates (see here and here), we're sort of dreading the rates this hotel will be offering.
