The Jane Hotel Down for Poking, SuperPoking and Status Updates

We've already talked about hotels blogging and new hotel iPhone apps today so we might as well talk about hotels Facebooking.

The Jane Hotel has joined the ever-increasing group of hotels on Facebook. So far the hotel only has about 20 fans which we understand as it's in the beginning stages of Facebooking. The two wall posts advertise the $99 rates at the hotel and a YouTube series of clips from the movie Barton Fink. So far, no fan photos or videos but we'll be watching for those in the future.

Creating a Facebook page is something we actually discussed over the summer with hotelier Sean MacPherson who was keen on attracting younger guests--specifically those who wanted to experience a "grittier" version of NYC on a budget. And indeed this is the hotel's mission statement on FB:

To provide a stylish and affordable travel experience for explorers with "more dash than cash."
