Andre Balazs Named People Mag's Sexiest Hotelier

Alright so we're a little bit late to the game on the whole People Magazine's Sexiest Men issue but this is what happens when you decide to save your money--the first to go are the frivolous tabloidy magazines.

Yet during our Thanksgiving Travels last week we couldn't resist picking up the Sexiest Men issue, if not for the hope of seeing Robert Pattinson naked, then at least for the interview with Eliot Spitzer's call girl.

But we got a bonus surprise when we noticed that Andre Balazs was dubbed Sexiest Hotelier in the A-Z sexy section where People nominated a sexy man for each occupation of the alphabet. (FYI: Jarod Miller is the sexiest Zoologist.)

Hmmm...while Andre Balazs is without a doubt a very good-looking, sexy hotelier, we couldn't help but be a little bored by this choice. It's almost as if People scanned the gossip columns for the word hotelier and found Andre's name came up a bunch of times. They also already know him well from his relationship with Uma Thurman. But there are probably other hoteliers out there that are just as deserving.

Like Thompson's Jason Pomeranc or mysterious Vikram Chatwal? What about Sean MacPherson, he of the Bowery Hotel who also has some insanely successful restaurants like the Waverly Inn? Of course, if it were up to us, we would nominate Bill Marriott. Old can be sexy too! And he has way more hotels than AB.

What could be sexier than a handsome, talented Hollywood stud turned hotel mogel, albeit an aging one? Dare I throw DeNiro's name into that hat?

What about Bop! Magazine? Anyways, I'm going to go with Alex Calderwood of Ace Hotels. He's not my type, but his relative youth and mop of hair makes him the rogue of the hotelier circles. Oh, and NO WAY is Vikram Chatwal getting any points for hotness from me; he simply keeps too many shirt buttons undone for my taste.
