The Standard Hollywood Will Ring in '09 With Two Parties
Not to miss out on throwing at least one of the most talked-about New Year's Eve events this year, The Standard Hollywood is throwing two separate "Gold 009" parties to ring in 2009 — one poolside and one in the Purple Lounge.
If hanging by the pale blue glow of a pool with a bunch of sexy people is your thing, then you've got the option of Gold 009 Poolside starting at 9:00 pm. The party will feature a live performance by Amsterdam sensation Le Le, whose official description is "French pop/Ghettotech/German pop" — and we can assure you that after our first time listening to the song "Breakfast" (okay, maybe our first five times listening), we are legitimately bummed we're missing out on the "ghettotech" greatness of this show (sample lyric: "holla, holla, holla, oatmeal and granola"). Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door, though it's recommended that you snag your tickets beforehand.
If the trendy indoor clubby-vibe is more your speed, $40 will get you into The Purple Lounge for the other Standard Gold 009 party. This one will feature Noelle Scaggs with Computer Jay, and it will be a bit more exclusive — you have to make reservations because space is definitely limited. Some friendly advice: we're willing to bet the purple glow in the room is going to be nice and flattering as the night wears on, so keep that in mind when you're choosing which soiree to hit up.
