Five Hotels Whitney Port Might Hit Up on 'The City'

December 29, 2008 at 4:30 PM | by Jenna | 5 Comments

Miss Whitney Port, The Hills' relatively level-headed blonde, has stepped out from the shadows of Heidi and Lauren to star in her very own MTV show set in the Big Apple, a reality series in the same "reality" genre of Laguna Beach and The Hills (so this is a spinoff of a spinoff).

The sure-to-be-epic program is creatively titled "The City" and will be premiering tonight on MTV. The premise of the show is essentially: she's young, gorgeous, works in fashion and goes out a lot — drama and carefully-edited footage of young pretty people staring at each other ensues.

The New York Post inquired about her social busy nightlife schedule:

"Her social life is completely organic," says [Creator Adam] DiVello. "We do get involved in where they go because we have to clear spaces in advance. If they're going out to dinner, we put calls in and clear the location [for the shoot]. But if they want to go to one bar that we can't go to, then we just can't follow them."

You know what all of this says to us? She'll be hitting up some ritzy, glitzy, PR-hungry hotel bars. Or so we like to think. If we may, we present to you our top five predictions for hotels most likely to be seen on The City (and now that we've done this, we all have an excuse to watch the show to see whether we're right or wrong).

1. Hotel Giraffe
We've dropped into Barna at Hotel Giraffe a time or two in our day, and we think it's just the right mix of pretty people and pretty outfits for Port and her people to have a good time.

2. W Union Square
Underbar tends to be pretty dead before midnight, so perhaps there may be room for a camera crew and time to do a couple takes of those staged fights before the crowds pour in.

3. Hotel Gansevoort
Oh, come on — was this even a question? It's as trendy as trendy gets, and the stunning views of the city from the rooftop would make for an excellent romantic moment with some dude.

4. Gramercy Park Hotel
Oh, you know Whitney (or any MTV producer) wants to hit up Rose Bar just to show Paris Hilton that Port and her people can get into the place.

5. The Bowery
The Bowery is a total fashionista hotel. Any NYC trendsetter who wants to be worth her weight in Jimmy Choos would probably want to see and be seen there. She can kick it with Sam and LiLo next time they're around.

Agree with our picks? Think we're way off? Sound off in the comments. Don't worry; we won't judge you.

    totes

She will totes hang at The Bowery and The Gramery Park Hotel. Also, the Standard! Duh, it's next to her "workplace." I'm also guessing some Maritime action when the weather warms up.

    take three and action!

I saw whitney and LC filming "live" on the rooftop of 60 Thompson. They had to redo their boring conversations a few times because the producers wanted them to focus more on specific boring topics. i love 60 thompson; don't love these girls.
