W Hoboken and Westin Jersey City Get Closer to Opening
If all goes well, Jerseyans will have two spanking new Starwood Hotels to hang out at in the New Year. The Life Vicarious blog tipped us off with that latest news on the W Hoboken and Westin Jersey City.
The Westin Jersey City is due to open on February 15th, 2009, and we aren't the only ones to find that an odd date. From The Life Vicarious:
Considering Valentine's Day is the night before and a Saturday, it seems like a giant misstep, regardless they're taking reservations now.
Meanwhile, over at the W Hoboken, the hotel is still on track for a February 26th opening and room will be a bit pricey at $319 for a cozy room and $519 for a Fantastic Suite with a balcony. Um. This is in New Jersey, right?
One other confusing thing: the W Hoboken hotel is saying reservations aren't being taken until April 21st. WTF? Is this a website mistake or something else? Maybe they're allowing all those condo owners who have waited delay after delay to move in first and test out the W's services before opening up the rest of the hotel to overnight guests.
Or maybe they wanted to let night clubbers make as much noise as possible in the Chandelier Room without worrying about waking up hotel guests? We're not quite sure but we'll figure it out for you.
Also, no word yet on whether the hotels will list Taylor Ham (also called Pork Roll) on the room-service menus.
