If only the Standard NYC had opened on time last week like it promised, then we would have had our very own exclusive shots into the newest Meatpacking district hotel (in the High Line!) from hottie hotelier Andre Balazs. But for now feast your eyes on these snapshots from Curbed.
There's plenty of views of Jersey (which we like--shout out exit 14!), voyeuristic bathrooms, funky mod and brightly colored decor, white sheets, low-ceilinged hallways and lots of construction. In fact, Curbed reports that only 10 of the 18 floors are open. Plus the ground-level restaurant, 18th floor club/bar and the rooftop lounge are still nowhere near completed.
It's hard for us to really comment on these pics until we go inside the hotel and see it for ourselves. And yes, we will get in there soon. Especially while rates are as low as $195 a night. Yet while Curbed has privacy issues with the bathroom, we just want to know what the heck is that armoire/desk contraption? Did they steal that from the coatroom of our elementary school classroom? Or else we can swear that was the desk that came with our college dorm room in the mid-90s.
