Hilton San Diego Bayfront Announces $139 Rates

We first gave you a sneak peak at the lobby and exterior of the Hilton San Diego Bayfront last week and it looks like you'll be able to see (and stay in) the finished rooms pretty soon: the hotel is totally on track for its scheduled December 3rd soft opening.

When it does get up and running, the room rates aren't going to be bad at all (heads up, East Coasters looking to flee the freezing temperatures and tourist frenzy happening in the colder big cities). The new waterfront hotel is offering a $139 per night "room preview" rate so you can sink into the never-before-slept-in beds (our fave) and check out the design of the place — and report back on the design, please. While one PR tipster described the look and feel of the lobby area in a pretty cool way (artwork that “moves like waves in the ocean"), HC commenter HotelMonster, who worked with the hotel, says the hotel's design is "so-so".

Also, for an extra twenty bucks you can get yourself the package with all the extras bundled in: the $159 package rate includes a standard room, in-room internet access, health club access and breakfast for two at the hotel's restaurant.

But get on it — the preview rates are valid for December only!
