Shangri-La Santa Monica Still Under Construction

The Shangri-La Santa Monica is still not open although the hotel promised it would open a few floors today in a soft-opening. We knew that most of the hotel was under construction when we took a tour the other week but we somehow believed them when they said they would open on Dec. 1st.

Instead, we only found similar amounts of construction when we rolled by this morning. Most of the floors look like they are still being worked on and we spied men in hard hats walking around the second floor.

We called the hotel directly but got an outdated pre-recorded message which said the hotel would be "re-emerging" at the end of November. Oops. Then we checked in with the PR rep and found the hotel's new date is December 15th. Sigh. We'll look in again then.
