The Setai San Diego was supposed to have opened by now but apparently there's been some issue with the hotel's certificate of occupancy (a dilemma that many hotels have to deal with when opening.) A would-be guest sent us this email this morning letting us know what happened:

We had reservations at the Setai San Diego for December 20th and 21st. Hotel concierge called last night to inform us that the city did not give them their certificate of occupancy yet. They hope to open sometime next week. To make it up to us – the concierge offered us two free nights on a future visit.

Wow. That's actually very nice of the hotel to do that for their guests. Despite the delays, we say Setai San Diego is getting off to a good start in providing luxury service for their guests.

And just for the record, the hotel's rep said the hotel did receive a temporary certificate of occupancy but that the hotel was adding "finishing touches." The hotel should open at the latest on Monday.
