Jane Hotel SRO Tenants Will Protest Outside The Bowery Tonight
After we brought you reports this morning of the Jane Hotel's SRO residents' demonstration outside Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode's famed celebrity haunt The Waverly Inn that went down last night, we've received word that the protesters will be taking it to The Bowery tonight.
The tenants of the building where the new budget-chic Jane is located are going to be protesting their living conditions yet again, which they describe as "rat-infested conditions, often with no heat or hot water" due largely to the construction going on during the building's conversion to a hotel (they're blaming landlords MacPherson and Goode).
According to a press release the Jane Street Association has been sending around, Diane Von Furstenberg and Hugh Jackman both approached the protesters last night, asked them questions and looked at pictures of the living conditions. Apparently, tours of the building are being offered as well.
Tonight at 6:30, they will hit the streets again, this time taking their signs and voices to the outside of the Bowery Hotel (another one of MacPherson's celeb-hotspot properties). You've been warned.
