But then we dropped by TripAdvisor and found that the tenants aren't the only ones complaining about their residences being converted to a hotel the guests aren't loving the arrangement either. Of the three reviews on TripAdvisor since the Jane opened for business, two mention the residents and the construction.
The first, from NewEnglandJohnny:
While I was there, all of my fellow residents were actual residents. Late night coming and going, folks hanging out in the hall, as well as personal possessions. Had to walk around guys on ladders, guys carrying bags of trash, plaster, etc.
And in a December 12th review, themerm says, "The tenants next door are from another planet and the service is non existant."
Yikes. We're not sure the details behind the "other planet" thing, but we'd love to know. And hey, MacPherson did tell us himself that he was fully prepared for eccentric residents kickin' around he said this to us: "The hotel is going to be weird. And I like that about this hotel." But was he prepared for this kind of stuff?
As always, if you've got any juicy tidbits to share with us about the tension at The Jane (or the Waverly and Maritime, as the case may be), let us know.
