Gwyneth Paltrow Fancies Herself a Hotel Connoisseur

December 11, 2008 at 10:05 AM | by | Comment (1)

Gwyneth Paltrow's "Lifestyle" website, GOOP, is supposed to teach us all how to live like Gwyneth. Each section on the site — Make, Go, Get, Do, Be, See — contains links to weekly newsletters chock full of invaluable advice on how to do such things the way she wants us to, and each one reads like it's written by the GP herself (like this one, telling you how and when to wear a little black dress [answer: any way, always]).

This morning's newsletter — from the "Go" category — featured, you guessed it, hotel recommendations! For LA! Gwynnie's birth city!

She recommends a handful of places to stay in LA, none of which are accompanied by any significant explanation outlining why you should stay there.

Gwynnie says:

Shutters on the Beach
Gwynnie says: "Shutters is my favorite place to stay in L.A. Make sure you get a room with an ocean view.

Beverly Hills Hotel
Gwynnie says: Although it's been slightly threadbare in the past, the Dorchester Hotel Group recently purchased it and is said to have given this classic hotel a bit of a facelift.

London West Hollywood
Gwynnie says: I haven't actually been here, but my friend David Collins designed the interiors and he has beautiful taste. And with Gordon Ramsay's in-house restaurant, I'm looking forward to trying it the next time I go to L.A.

In summary: She likes one place because she likes it, another place because it's not as ugly as it was, and her friends are involved in the other hotel. It's good to be a celebrity, huh?
