Hey, remember Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree? Didn't it sort of change your life? And didn't it make you wish you had a tree that was your BFF and gave you stuff while teaching you lessons about life as you grew older? Yes? Us too.

Believe it or not, the Hotel Palomar Arlington may make that dream come true for you by giving you a tree. Yes. They're giving you a wee little tree. It may end up being a Giving Tree when it gets bigger, too. Which would be pretty cool.

From now until January 30th, booking the Giving Tree Package at the Palomar for $169 will get you one night in a king room, a keepsake copy of The Giving Tree as a welcome amenity, plus a tree of your very own:

A young sapling will be mailed to the guest or can be gifted to that special someone in the guest's life. Guests can select to send or to receive either a conifer (Austrian Pine, Colorado Spruce, Deodora Cedar, or Giant Sequoia) or a deciduous sapling (Chineese Dogwood, Ginkgo, Green-Leaf Japanese, Maple, Northern Red Oak, Pin Oak, or Red-Leaf Japanese Maple)

A TREE. Your own little baby tree, courtesy of your hotel. The idea of the package is meant to celebrate the spirit of holiday giving and also symbolizes the hotel's commitment to being an environmentally-aware hotel.

What does one do with a young sapling tree, you ask? Well, you can plant it. Or you can give it stuff. Yeah, why don't you give the tree something for a change.
